Permanent Hair Removal Options
The Most Effective Methods for Getting Rid of Unwanted Hair
Most women shave their legs and underarms on a regular basis, but those are not the only areas where women have unwanted hair. Approximately two thirds of women have some facial hair growth. Not too many women want to shave their faces, so they resort to things like waxing or using tweezers and there are a number of problems with those methods.
Problems with Typical Hair Removal Methods
Shaving is an effective way to remove hair but it can irritate the skin, you may cut yourself, and stubble will return in a matter of days, meaning that you will have to shave all over again. Waxing is another option but it is incredibly painful and although the results will last a bit longer than shaving, you will have to wax again before too long. Using tweezers on areas like the upper lip, the chin, or sideburns is also painful and can be very time-consuming. There are some better solutions that offer long-lasting and even permanent results.
Solutions for Long-Term and Even Permanent Hair Removal
If shaving, waxing, tweezing, and hair removal creams with harsh chemicals are something that you would like to be done with, there are a couple of solutions that are effective for long-term and even permanent hair removal. The hair removal options we are talking about are electrolysis and laser hair removal.
Electrolysis
Electrolysis is a method that is approved by the FDA for permanent hair removal. A fine needle is inserted into the hair follicle and a small amount of electricity is applied. This destroys the hair and prevents the follicle from growing new hair. It is a safe and effective method that has been in use for over 100 years.
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is a newer option than electrolysis but it can be just as effective. One of the benefits of laser hair removal is that with this technique you can effectively treat larger areas. Electrolysis uses a small needle inserted into each hair follicle individually, but a laser can affect multiple hair follicles at the same time.
One thing to keep in mind is that both electrolysis and laser hair removal are not solutions that will work overnight. It usually requires a series of treatments before permanent hair loss is achieved. However, once you have gone through all of the necessary treatments, shaving, waxing, and tweezing will be a thing of the past.
