Exactly What Kind of Damage Can Sun Cause?
We’ve all heard how serious getting lots of sun can be, but most of us don’t realize just how important it is to keep our skin, our eyes, and all other areas of our bodies protected from the sun at all times. We will take a look at some of the ways in which the sun can cause damage.
Skin Damage
The most obvious thing the sun can do, of course, is damage our skin. Getting a tan, no matter how light, still causes all kinds of damage to our epidermis. The best way to prevent this is to always wear sunscreen, even if the day is cloudy. The sun can still hurt you even if you can’t really see it. Don’t think that being in the water, whether the pool or beach, can protect you. The water actually makes the sun’s rays stronger because they reflect them. If you are planning to be in the water on a sunny day, wear even more sunscreen than you usually would!
Eye Damage
Not many of us realize that our eyes can also be damaged by the sun. The light can hurt and dry them out, making for uncomfortable days in the sun or even more permanent damage. This is why we have sunglasses. Use them whenever you will be out in the sun for long periods of time to make sure you are protected.
These are the most damaging ways the sun can affect us on a daily basis. By making sure that you take all the possible precautions to keep your skin and eyes safe, you are making sure that your skin stays healthy. Remember to always apply sunscreen, even over your lips and nose, and to carry your pair of favorite sunglasses to protect your eyes from the glare.
