Do You Know About the Benefits of the Skinfinity Pro Fractional RF Machine Procedure? Here’s Everything You Need to Know.

Skinfinity RFOne of the biggest benefits of the Skinfinity Pro Fractional RF Machine procedure is that it’s non-invasive, all the while delivering exceptional results. Too many people believe the misconception that getting major rejuvenating results means having to go under the knife, but that’s just not true. Procedures like Skinfinity use revolutionary technologies to make your skin look visibly younger in just a few sessions. Today, we’re going over exactly what you can expect from this procedure, as well as its benefits and ways to determine whether it’s the right choice for you. Ready to find out more about the rejuvenating procedure that thousands of people swear by? Let’s get started.

An Introduction to the Skinfinity RF Time Machine Procedure

Skinfinity RF is a non-surgical skin treatment that uses cutting-edge fractional ablative radiofrequency technology. In simpler terms, this procedure delivers tiny radio waves into designated treatment zones on your skin. These frequencies penetrate deeply into the skin, minimizing the appearance of stretch marks, wrinkles, and scarring.

The Time Machine procedure takes the benefits of Skinfinity RF a step further by combining it with two other effective treatments: microneedling and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). In PRP, your own blood is drawn and placed into a centrifuge in order to draw out a super-substance called platelet-rich plasma. This plasma has visible anti-aging effects on the skin, helping to minimize signs of aging, all the while evening out the skin tone and maximizing smoothness.

These three sought-after treatments are combined to create the ultimate Time Machine procedure, which occurs in four parts:

  1. Exfoliation and Prep: the skin undergoes microdermabrasion in order to remove dead skin cells and guarantee the smoothest surface possible.
  2. Stimulation: Skinfinity Pro Fractional RF is done, with radio frequencies kicking off collagen production.
  3. Rejuvenation: PRP is extracted and injected into the skin. The stem cells in the plasma stimulate collagen production and cell growth.
  4. Regeneration: PRP and microneedling are used in tandem to maximize collagen production and make the skin look visibly smoother.

What are the Benefits of This Procedure?

Any one of the treatments outlined above has perceptible results. When used together in the Time Machine procedure, they combine forces to make the most of your body’s rejuvenation potential. By stimulating collagen production, this procedure accomplishes a variety of things:

  • Minimizes the appearance of pores
  • Reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines
  • Helps to make acne scars less visible
  • Firms up, smoothes, and tightens the skin
  • Evens out skin texture

Because it’s a nonsurgical procedure, the Time Machine treatment will allow you to get back to normal in no time. You might experience some redness and tingling the day of your treatment, but you can go back to your daily routine – like applying makeup and skincare products on the skin – right away. You should be able to see noticeably firmer and smoother skin within just a couple of days.

Is the Time Machine Procedure Right for You?

If you’re an adult who is looking for perceptible rejuvenating results but want to avoid going under the knife, the Skinfinity RF Time Machine procedure is definitely worth investigating. Talk to a licensed medical professional you trust about whether this treatment is right for you. If you want to work some major anti-aging effects into your busy lifestyle, the Time Machine may be just the thing.

Here’s What You Should Know About Facial Fillers

Here’s What You Should Know About Facial Fillers

Fillers are all the rage in the cosmetics industry and beyond, and for good reason. These non-invasive, low-maintenance cosmetic go-to’s are fantastic for a variety of areas and uses, and today, we’re deep diving into it all. What do fillers do, what are the best fillers out there, and are fillers even right for you? Explore the best filler options out there so that you can make the best decision about what works for you. Let’s go ahead and start exploring.

Facial Fillers Explained

Facial fillers are primarily used on the face for cosmetic reasons. Fillers can serve a variety of purposes, but generally speaking, their aim is to add fullness, plumpness, and overall youthfulness to various areas of the face. From the forehead to the cheeks, chin, under eyes, lips, and jawline, fillers are an effective and non-permanent way to minimize the effects of aging on your face. They can even be used as an alternative to invasive procedures like rhinoplasties and facelifts, saving you both the money and time that you’d invest in a surgery.

There are a variety of filler types out there, and today, we’re deep diving into the three most popular filler brands on the market in order to determine which one is best suited to which purpose. With this knowledge, you’ll be well equipped to make an informed decision about which filler option is right for you.

Restylane is a facial filler that can be used in a variety of areas across the face. Because it contains hyaluronic acid, a compound naturally produced in the body that has a plumping effect on the skin, Restylane doesn’t just minimize the appearance of wrinkles; it helps to treat the wrinkles by minimizing their appearance. Restylane can last anywhere from 9 to 12 months in the skin. Restylane is non-invasive, administered via injection by a licensed professional; treatment can last anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the area of the face being treated. Restylane is most commonly used on the lip and cheek areas.

Perhaps the most talked-about filler option available, Juvederm has very similar functionalities and applications to Restylane. The most notable difference is that Juvederm can have a more plumping effect than Restylane, and it can also likely to last longer (an average time of 12 to 18 months, as opposed to 9 to 12). Because of this, Juvederm injections can be pricier on average than some of their counterparts.

Belotero is a very effective, yet subtle, filler option. Because of this, it is widely used to target very fine lines in the skin, such as crow’s feet, or even hollows in the under eye area. Due to its subtlety, Belotero is a great option for anyone looking to try out filler without making any major changes to the face, as well as for those who have never tried filler before.

Are Facial Fillers Right for You?

If you’re looking to add plumpness or reduce the appearance of wrinkles anywhere on your face, dermal fillers can be a fantastic option. This is especially true if you have a busy lifestyle or are simply looking to avoid surgery; because they are low-maintenance and non-invasive, facial fillers can have you back to your regular lifestyle within a few hours of treatment. All facial fillers are only appropriate for adults, and it’s recommended that you consult with a medical professional before getting any cosmetic procedure done. If you’re looking to add plumpness to the lip or cheek area, Restylane or Juvederm are great options to consider. If you’re looking for something more subtle, or are aiming to treat your eye area, Belotero is worth considering. In any case, fillers are a great option that allow you to reap the benefits of a cosmetic procedure without having to undergo plastic surgery.

If you’re interested in learning more about facial fillers, we are happy to help you choose the very best ones for you. Red Bamboo’s Dr. Toscano is especially trained in expertly administering filler to even the most delicate areas of the face. To schedule a consultation with him, just click here.

Start Off Your Summer with Laser Hair Reduction

Start Off Your Summer with Laser Hair Reduction

laser hair removalIt’s official – the days are getting longer, the weather is warming up, and summer is right around the corner. With long, hot days and weekly beach trips right around the corner, what better way is there to prepare than by getting laser hair reduction?  There are so many benefits to investing in laser hair reduction treatments (especially when you live in the Sunshine State), and we’re breaking down everything you need to know, from what you can expect in your laser hair reduction process to how to keep your skin as healthy as possible after treatment. Let’s get started.

A Brief Explanation of Laser Hair Reduction

Laser hair reduction is exactly as it sounds: a small laser is used to target individual hair follicles, intentionally damaging them so that they are no longer able to produce hair. The laser is attracted to the pigment color of the hair. Laser hair reduction will not work on gray, white, light blonde, or red hair. The hair color has to be darker in order for the laser energy to seek out and destroy the hair follicle. This treatment isn’t just noninvasive; it’s also relatively painless. It can take anywhere between six to 12  treatments for your desired effect to be achieved, but once it is, you can rest assured that you won’t have to deal with painful, inconvenient, or time-consuming hair removal on the treated area again. Patients with darker skin tones will typically require more treatments. The reason for this is that the laser energy settings cannot be as high so as to not burn their skin.

What to Expect During Treatment

Laser hair reduction is not nearly as painful as some might expect. This is because a cooling mechanism is built into the laser handpiece that is used during treatment, making it so that patients cannot feel the laser’s energy during the treatment. The feeling has been compared to the sensation of a slight rubber band being snapped across your skin: it is something similar to a slight pinch. Most patients don’t feel much of anything.

When you arrive for your laser treatment, expect to be given a pair of goggles to wear throughout the duration of the process in order to keep your eyes protected. It is likely that your laser technician will ask you to make sure that the treatment site is shaved in preparation for your appointment. Depending on the size of the area you are getting treated, the process can take anywhere from a few minutes (for small areas like the upper lip and sideburns) to about an hour (for large areas like the back or legs). In either scenario, a laser handpiece is used to target the follicles as precisely as possible.

What to Expect After Treatment and How to Care for Your Skin

Once the laser procedure is over, it can be normal to experience some swelling or tenderness in the treated areas. Itching and irritation can also be common, and you can apply a cold compress or hydrocortisone cream to help. Avoid showering with hot water, though warm water is fine, for about 72 hours after treatment. You should also try to avoid working out for about 5 days after your treatment. It is very important to not use spray tanning, tanning beds, chemical peels, stronger skin care products, and to avoid direct sun exposure to the treated area.

All in all, laser hair reduction is a relatively painless, non-invasive procedure that allows you to go about your life quite normally within a day of receiving it. By being proactive about getting laser hair reduction now, you can make sure you’re ready to spend as many days in the sun as you want by the time summer has arrived.

It’s never too early to prepare for summer in Florida, and what better way is there to do that than by getting laser hair reduction. Toss out those razors and say goodbye to those pesky ingrown hairs today! To learn more about the procedure and get started, don’t hesitate to schedule a free consultation with us.

What Should You Expect From a PRP Hair Regeneration Treatment?

What Should You Expect From a PRP Hair Regeneration Treatment?

PRP hair regeneration treatment So many people suffer from hair loss. It’s a condition that spans across gender, age range, and background. The side effects of hair loss aren’t just aesthetic; it can have considerable psychological impacts, including anxiety and loss of self-esteem. If you’re experiencing hair loss and feeling powerless or frustrated, it’s completely understandable – but there are more options out there for you than you might think. One of the most promising among these is the use of PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, as a catalyst for hair growth. Curious about PRP in general, or about how this remarkable treatment can promote hair growth? We’re diving into just that today; keep on reading to learn more.

PRP Explained

PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is a substance that’s extricated from your own body. That may sound a little intimidating, but the process is painless and non-invasive. A small amount of blood is drawn from you. Then, that blood sample is placed in a centrifuge that isolates a small but mighty concentration of stem cells and platelets. This resulting substance, called platelet-rich plasma, is rife with growth factors and nutrients. When injected into areas where hair loss is apparent, it can be an effective tool to stimulate visible hair growth. This may sound too good to be true, but the reality is that PRP is full of factors – like stem cells and platelets – that help to repair weakened hair follicles, thereby promoting hair growth.

What to Expect From the Procedure and Aftercare

PRP hair regeneration is a relatively easy, time-efficient, and painless procedure when done by a qualified professional. First, a small amount of your blood is drawn and placed in a centrifuge to draw out the PRP. Then, the PRP is injected into the areas where you have experienced or are experiencing hair loss. The entire procedure should only take about an hour. The stem cells and growth factors in PRP work to repair damaged cells and follicles by promoting regeneration at a faster rate than would occur naturally. The resulting healthy follicles are capable of sustaining hair growth, leading to visible results.

After receiving a PRP hair regeneration treatment, you should be able to proceed with your life relatively normally. You might experience some slight soreness or tenderness at the injection site. Avoid direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, strenuous activity, and saunas for about 72 hours following your procedure. Wait 24 hours before showering after receiving a PRP treatment, and wait at least until one week after treatment to resume consuming alcohol.

The Results of PRP Hair Regeneration

PRP can lead to hair growth in previously balding areas, in addition to longer, shinier, and stronger hair overall. For most patients, results are perceptible within three to five PRP sessions. There isn’t much data pertaining to the effects of PRP on male pattern baldness, but it has had demonstrated effects on conditions like alopecia.

PRP hair regeneration treatment is a promising option for people experiencing hair loss. If you’re interested in exploring whether this treatment is a good fit for you, don’t hesitate to schedule a consultation with us. Click here to get started

Fact or Fiction? Debunking Some of the Most Common Myths About Botox

Fact or Fiction? Debunking Some of the Most Common Myths About Botox

Myths About BotoxBotox is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the country, but it’s not without its misconceptions. For those who are interested in getting Botox, navigating the murky world of fact versus fiction can seem like quite the feat. Is it harmless or dangerous? Painless or painful? Though there is a wealth of information out there about what you can expect from just about every cosmetic procedure, there are also just as many misleading claims and myths about Botox. That’s why, today, we’re examining some of the most common misconceptions about getting Botox. We hope this is a helpful resource as you continue to evaluate whether getting Botox is the right choice for you. Let’s go ahead and get started.

Myth 1: Botox is toxic and harmful to you.

This is a common misconception, partly because Botox – short for botulinum toxin – can be incorrectly associated with botulism, a deadly illness that can be caused by exposure to a different kind of toxin. Botox, however, cannot lead you to contract botulism, and it is not toxic or harmful to your health when delivered by a certified medical professional. For over 20 years, Botox has been an FDA-approved cosmetic treatment that millions of people have received safely.

Myth 2: Once you get Botox, you can’t go back: it’s permanent.

Another common myth about Botox is that, once injected, it lasts forever. This is altogether untrue. The effects of Botox typically last between three and six months. If you do not get more Botox after this time period, its effects will gradually wear off until they are undetectable. In fact, keeping up the results you desire from Botox requires active maintenance.

Myth 3: It hurts to get Botox.

This is a reasonable misconception, since Botox is administered via injections. However, it is not necessarily true. In reality, receiving Botox looks much more painful than it actually is. Tiny portions of liquid are deposited in the skin using very thin needles; the feeling is akin to a small pinch and is typically described more as mild discomfort than actual pain. Especially when compared to more invasive alternatives, like face lifts and other kinds of surgical facial sculpting, Botox is relatively painless.

Myth 4: Botox will make you look unnatural.

It’s not at all uncommon to see images of poorly done or excessive Botox online, leading someone to believe that these results are standard. In reality, this couldn’t be further from the truth. When administered skillfully by a licensed medical professional, Botox should by no means make you look cartoonish or unnatural; in fact, the results are more often than not quite subtle, adding youthfulness to the face without sacrificing your ability to make normal facial expressions. When administered by the right physician, Botox can be a graceful and natural-looking option to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Myth 5: Botox is used for purely cosmetic purposes.

Though it is widely used for cosmetic purposes, Botox has known functional applications, as well. It is a popular treatment for conditions like hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), bladder problems, and even chronic pain. If you experience any of these conditions, speak to a physician about whether Botox is an option for you.

Myth 6: Botox will prevent me from having normal facial expressions.

First off, Botox doesn’t affect your entire face; it is specifically used around the eyes and forehead, and it only affects the muscles at the site of injection. Even then, it does not prevent you from having robust facial expressions when it is administered correctly. When you’re considering a medical professional for your Botox injections, do your research: look at before and after photos of procedures they have done, if available, and read up on testimonials from past patients. Make sure that you are impressed by the results you see before moving forward with your own procedure.

We hope that addressing these common myths about Botox has been helpful as you consider whether or not this procedure is right for you. To learn more about Botox, feel free to schedule a consultation with us by clicking here

New Year, New You: Find Out If Getting SmartLipo is Right for You in 2021

New Year, New You: Find Out If Getting SmartLipo is Right for You in 2021

smartlipoThe beginning of the year is a time filled with possibilities; there’s no better time to really think about where you want to be in a year’s time. For quite a few people, physical appearance somehow comes into play when creating new year’s resolutions. Whether it’s achieving a look you love or simply trying something new, it’s natural to harness this time as an opportunity to think about what physical changes you’re interested in making over the next eleven months. If you’ve been considering cosmetic procedures but are intimidated by the idea of having something invasive done, SmartLipo is something you should know about. Is getting SmartLipo right for you? Let’s take a quick dive into what the procedure entails so that you can determine that for yourself.

A Quick Explanation of SmartLipo (and How It Differs from Traditional Liposuction)

Conventional liposuction is a surgical procedure during which fat is suctioned out of the body from underneath the skin. Though it can have significant results, liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure. Though it can usually be done as an outpatient procedure, it does involve an uncomfortable and somewhat painful recovery. For the first week after receiving liposuction, patients can expect a moderate amount of soreness; it can usually take about a month for the discomfort to go away entirely, though it’s not uncommon for some patients to have a recovery time of up to two months. After receiving liposuction, patients are required to wear a compression garment for up to two months.

SmartLipo, on the other hand, leverages the power of laser technology to yield fantastic results without the invasiveness (and consequent recovery time) of traditional liposuction. In addition to being less invasive, requiring smaller incisions, and leading to much less down time, SmartLipo is also a more affordable alternative to conventional liposuction.

CoolSculpting on the other hand, requires several treatments and patients have to wait weeks or months for their final results. CoolSculpting can also be quite uncomfortable and is not completely painless. CoolSculpting treatments also cost significantly more than SmartLipo. With SmartLipo, only one treatment is required, and patients see results immediately afterwards.

How SmartLipo Works

SmartLipo is a fairly straightforward procedure without any need for general anesthesia. First, the skin over the area where the procedure will occur is numbed. Once numbness is complete, tiny incisions are made and a thin fiber optic strand is inserted into them. This strand delivers precise beams of laser energy that serve to melt the fat in that specific area. That melted fat is then removed through suction.

After receiving SmartLipo, patients are given a compression garment to wear for approximately two weeks. The majority of patients are able to carry on with their normal lives, including going back to school or work, within one day of the procedure.

Why Choose SmartLipo?

If you want to kick off the new year by treating yourself to an effective procedure that doesn’t get in the way of your lifestyle, SmartLipo could be a great choice. SmartLipo is an excellent alternative to traditional liposuction, particularly for someone who wants visible results without the invasiveness of a surgery under general anesthesia. If you want a more affordable alternative to liposuction or simply don’t want the months of downtime following the traditional procedure, it’s worth considering SmartLipo. Some additional benefits of the SmartLipo procedure include painlessness, no need for general anesthesia or IVs, skin tightening as fat is melted, and little to no downtime before getting back to your regular life. SmartLipo patients also see results the very same day, unlike with CoolSculpting, and also pay much less for their treatment, as CoolScupting treatments are very costly.

Is getting SmartLipo the right decision for you? We strongly encourage you to discuss your options with a physician if you feel as though SmartLipo sounds like a good choice for your needs and lifestyle. Red Bamboo is proud to have Dr. Frank Toscano, who received the honor of “Best SmartLipo in Tampa Bay” from the duPont Registry, as a member of our team.
